Just across the street from Hotel Ruby in downtown Spokane is The Bing Crosby Theater (also known as the Met).
The Bing Crosby Theater originally opened in 1915 as The Clemmer Theatre. It was one in the first wave of "movie palace tradition" theaters that opened and is one of only a handful of these very early movie palaces still in existence.
After almost a century and various owners, in 2006, a citizens group received Silver's permission to rename the theater after Bing Crosby and raised money to build a new marquee. It has been The Bing Crosby Theater ever since.
Upcoming Events: Ballet & Bubbly (Dec. 31st), Jake Shimabukuro (Jan 17th, 2012), OKLAHOMA! (Feb. 24th, 2012), and Spokane Jazz Orchestra "Jazz Underground" (Mar. 10th, 2012).
